In Light of That Day

Cheryl Lynn Stolldorf, 47, of Cary, passed from death to life on Tuesday, December 5, 2006 at Wake Medical Center. Raised in Pennsylvania, Cheryl trusted in Christ at a young age. She attended Penn State University, where she met and married Dan Stolldorf. They had three children. In all circumstances, her life was marked by tireless service and loving devotion to her family, her church, and her Lord.

She is survived by her husband of 26 years; her daughter and son-in- law, Terri, and Vance Whitaker; her son, A.J. Stolldorf; her daughter, Allison Stolldorf; her grandson, Isaac Whitaker; as well as her parents and four sisters.

A visitation will be held at Apex Funeral Home from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, December 10, 2006.

The funeral will be held 1 p.m. on Monday, December 11, 2006 at King's Park International Church (www.kpic.org).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the persecuted church through the Voice of the Martyrs at 1-800-747-0085.

Let us all be comforted with the knowledge that at the instant of her death, she passed into the presence of her Savior. We will mourn, but we will do so, not as those who have no hope in death. We will mourn in hope—the hope of eternal life and the hope of the resurrection of the body at the return of the Lord. Be comforted by God’s wonderful provision made possible by the death and resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ. This gospel hope is sure and steadfast and will never fade away. May we who live on in the flesh take this opportunity to reflect upon nearness of eternity and determine to live our lives in light of that day.

Fall

Yes, Missy, it is definitely time for a new post! This post is mostly pictures... enjoy :)


First...I took a trip to Williamsburg with my mom, sisters, and niece. It was a beautiful time of year to be there!

I love the fall.

I love Williamsburg.

I love my family.

I also made Ava laugh on the way home... it made my day!

It was a great weekend :)

Then, I went to Charlotte to see my college roommate get married... while I was there I got to see some of my old friends.... it was wonderful!

Kendra and I went out for her birthday

On Saturday I got to spend time catching up with some wonderful girls I don't get to see much...

Jeanie had us over for brunch....





...and we got to play with Alathea!

Leah told us about her wedding plans and offered to give us all Beta Fish... haha


Kathryn was also there... somehow I didn't get a picture of her though :( Good times...I love these girls!!




Then on Saturday night I went to see my "Charlotte family"...

Now, I am heading off to Maryland tomorrow to spend Thanksgiving with my grandmother!

We'll also be going to see some college basketball on Friday :)

Cultivating Creativity

The Apex Arts Council website just got an update... you can check it out here!

Two years ago (almost exactly) I attended a meeting with two other people interested in starting an arts council in Apex... next thing I knew I was writing grant proposals, signing incorporation papers and creating bylaws! Now, two years later, it is exciting to see many of the ideas we had back then actually becoming realities. As of the last meeting I am no longer the interim president of the Board of Directors (sounds a lot more official then it actually was, haha)...so now I am able to be a 'normal member' :)
